Resources

The BHC Resources section is designed as a practical gateway for anyone wanting to learn, research, or teach more.

We are bringing together recommended books, archives, websites, films, documentaries, podcasts, exhibitions, museums, academic research, and community history projects along the recordings from Black History Conversations.

Resources will range from introductory material for people beginning their journey to specialist sources for researchers.

We particularly want to help people discover original evidence — archives, historic newspapers, maps, photographs, oral histories, and family records — and understand how these can reveal previously overlooked stories.

Resources will be grouped by subject and country so that the collection remains easy to explore as it grows.

We welcome recommendations from BHC speakers and participants. The aim is not to catalogue everything, but to create a trusted, accessible starting point for discovering Black History.
